Attorney Andrew E. Martzahl

Andrew is an attorney at Lin Law LLC.  He practices in the areas of Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Administration, Real Estate and Corporate / Business matters.  He has extensive experience advising clients on estate planning matters, business succession planning, mergers & acquisitions, commercial contracts, real estate acquisitions and sales, and corporate entity structuring.  Andrew is passionate for guiding individuals, families, and business leaders along the journey towards achieving their goals, and finds meaning through getting to know a client’s unique circumstances and realizing a client’s individual goal.  For individuals, families, and business leaders, the steps may differ, and the definition of success might look different, but successful representation has one common denominator: The joy and peace of mind that comes with reaching a desired end-result.  Andrew takes great pride in his work through helping clients achieve success, however they define it.

Andrew is a graduate of the Wisconsin School of Business at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, graduating in 2016 with a bachelor’s of business administration (BBA) in Finance, Investments, & Banking. He also double-majored in economics. Following his undergraduate studies, Andrew attended Marquette University Law School, where he earned his Juris Doctor (JD), cum laude, in 2020, and from Marquette University Graduate School of Management, earning his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in 2021.  While in law school, Andrew served as President of the Marquette University Law School Estate Planning Society, liaison to the Real Property, Probate & Trust Section of the State Bar of Wisconsin, and worked as a research assistant to Associate Dean Vada Lindsey as she wrote and published a textbook on the federal taxation of estates, gifts, and trusts.

Before joining Lin Law, Andrew spent several years working at an AmLaw 200 law firm, where his practice focused primarily on business and transactional law, in addition to estate planning. Andrew has a broad range of experience advising individuals, families, and business owners with regards to wealth planning and general business matters, including commercial contracts, business formation and reorganization, real estate transactions, and mergers and acquisitions.  Prior to becoming an attorney, Andrew gained valuable experience working in both the private and public sectors. Andrew served as a legislative intern in the Office of Wisconsin State Representative John Nygren, then Co-Chair of the Wisconsin Legislature’s Joint Finance Committee and Co-Chair of the Governor’s Task Force on the Heroine and Opioid Epidemic in Wisconsin. During Andrew’s time at the State Capitol, his office was instrumental in the creation and passage of Wisconsin’s 2017-2019 biennial budget bill, as well as a series of bills later passed into law by Governor Walker to combat the opioid epidemic in Wisconsin. Prior to his experience at the State Capitol, Andrew interned for a multinational dairy company as a financial analyst, working in Madrid, Spain.

Outside of work, Andrew enjoys spending time in the outdoors playing golf, hiking, hunting, and fishing.  Andrew is an avid fan of all Wisconsin sports teams, but in particular the Green Bay Packers. He is hopeful that he’ll receive his Packers season tickets within the next few years (his parents wisely put him on the wait list shortly after he was born). Andrew enjoys spending time with his three brothers, as well as friends, golfing in the summer and watching his beloved Packers, Bucks, Badgers, and Golden Eagles in the colder months, whether it be at home or one of his favorite spots in town for food and drinks.

Andrew is admitted to practice in all state courts in Wisconsin, and the Eastern District of Wisconsin Federal Court.  Andrew’s professional affiliations include serving as a member of the Estate Planning Council of Northeast Wisconsin of the Green Bay Estate Planning Forum.  Andrew is also is a member of the Brown County Bar Association and of the Brown County Bar Association’s Young Lawyer Division, as well as a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin and the State Bar of Wisconsin’s Business Law Section, and Real Property, Probate & Trust Section.
